The Gambia National young Scorpions (U20) will open their WAFU exhibition on November 22nd to face rivals and Champions Senegal at the Stade Lat-Dior de Thies.
In the latest schedule released, The young scorpions will kick off their opening game with neighboring Senegal two days from the opening day subsequent to the game against Sierra Leone 48 hours later.
Mattar M’Boge and his charges are hoping to battle it out to gain early points and margin to secure a spot on the group stages to the quarterfinals in group A.
Having played both teams in the previous edition at Conakry where the young scorpions won Sierra Leone on penalties in the 3rd place playoff and suffered a defeat on post penalties at the Semi Finals against Senegal, the young Scorpions are ready to face their opponents with might and square off both games to be played at 16:00 hours.
Two teams are expected to advance to the quarterfinals from each group and The Gambia will see itself rested for the first two days of the tournament due to the number of teams in its group (following Liberia’s absence).
