The President of The Gambia Football Federation (GFF), Mr. Lamin Kabba Bajo, today made a presentation on strategic management at the FIFA Strategic Management Meeting held in the Romanian capital of Bucharest.

The President did a 15-minute presentation at the football gathering on the topic: How to increase the number of football participants; and Strategies to put in place to build a sustainable training system for players, coaches and referees. The conclusion of the said presentation was greeted with a standing ovation, a show of appreciation to the Federation’s groundbreaking presentations at FIFA meetings.

As a result of its sound management skills and the way in which it implements FIFA Forward Development Programmes, the GFF has been selected as a model for other Member Associations to learn from and thus we have been earmarked to do this in the form of presentations at FIFA events. This is the fifth such presentation within a period of one and a half year.

The Bucharest meeting, held from the 20th to 21st May, 2019, was organised for Presidents of the West African Football Union (WAFU) A and B Zones and the Romania Football Federation. It was presided over by the FIFA Development Manager for Africa and the Caribbean, Mr. Veron Monsengo-Omba and his colleagues from his department. Mr. Bajo presented on behalf of the WAFU Zone A.
