The Gambia National U-20 team is winding up it’s preparation ahead of the WAFU tournament in Liberia with a yet again resounding win over GPA FC in a test match played on Friday April 20th at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.
Young Scorpions Captain and Belgium based BASIROU Mbye of FC Lokeren and team Vice Captain Saikou Touray of Marimoo FC both registered significant goals for the WAFU bound team while an own goal that ensued from a dangerous LAMIN Conteh cross increased the scoring to three for the U-20 and GPA two.
The team will return for a final test game with Hawks FC for the second time on Saturday morning at the Independence Stadium while Coach Mattar Mboge and his charges continue to hone their skills at the National Technical Training Center in Yundum.
The team is expected to leave Banjul on Monday morning to Liberia ahead of their opening game with Guinea on Wednesday 25th April at the Samuel K Doe Stadium in Monrovia at 6pm.
