The lineup for The Gambia’s most prestigious cup competition has been completed with Tallinding United and Red Hawks becoming the latest and final batch of teams to secure their places in the last eight of the competition on Sunday.
Tallinding knocked out Wallidan 4-2 from eleven yards following a 1-1 stalemate at the end of regulation time, a result that sent the tie into the deciding post-match penalty shootout. It was Tallinding that took the lead in the match but the Blues were awarded a penalty from which they ensured parity.
Elsewhere in the FF Cup, second division side Red Hawks are also through to the last eight after they shocked perennial winners Gamtel 1-0 at Bakau’s Independence Stadium. Struggling in the second tier, Red Hawks have now joined their senior side Hawks into the latter stages of the competition and there could be a potential tie between the two sides when the draw for the last is being made.
