The Gambia Football Federation is pleased to announce that Mariama Bom Sowe has been appointed Head Coach for the Women’s National Team with immediate effect.
Bom’s appointment is ahead of a proposed friendly international at home with Cape Verde later in August. This decision has been reached at GFF Executive level with consultation with the relevant stakeholders. Mariama Sowe will be ably assisted by Foday Bah of Wallidan and will also be teamed up with a technical staff for the team’s technical preparation.
Bom has had earlier spells with the Women’s National Team leading to her accolade at the 2012 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Azerbaijan. She is currently the Head Coach of Interior FC in the Women’s League Division One.
