Scorpions Captain Pa Modou Jagne one of the longest serving and elderly players in the Squad has said the team and its technical staff are ready to make amends when the Gambia play away to Gabon on Thursday 12th November 2020 at the resumption of Afcon Group D Qualifiers in Franceville.
Nda was speaking after the team’s tactical meeting with Coach Tom Saintfiet where approach, style and formation are been discussed behind closed doors looking ahead to the showdown at Stade Franceville at 20:00hrs. “This game is a very important one for us and we are fully ready for it”, he noted. Nda said its been almost a year since the team did not take part in a competitive Afcon Qualifier due to the Corona virus pandemic. “The boys are very ready and we know what our job is because we want to win and qualify and that is only possible when we beat the best to be able to qualify and Gabon is one of the best teams but we’re prepared and hopefully we will win“.
Reacting to the new batch of players and youngsters injected into the squad, the Scorpions left defender said the young players are committed to the job and feel part of the squad. “We bring them closer to us and encourage them to make them feel that its our time and we are all ready together to qualify. We talk about it, dream about it and think about it“, he stressed.
