The President of The Gambia Football Federation Lamin Kaba Bajo on Wednesday 11th July led the Executive committee members of the GFF for a courtesy meeting to the new Youth and Sports Minister Hadrammeh Sidibeh in Banjul
The delegation includes the 2nd Vice President Ebou Faye ,3rd Vice President Martin Gomez, Executive Member Bakary K Jammeh and ALHAGIE Faye. The team was also accompanied by General Secretary Lamin M Jassey, Technical Director Sang Ndong, Finance Director Kemo Ceesay and Women’s Football Coordinator Sainey Sissohore. Also present at the meeting was Permanent Secretary MoYS.

In his introductory remarks President Bajo first thanked the New Minister for accepting to host the GFF delegation. He further congratulated him on his new position and prayed that he is guided well and wish him best of luck.

Mr Bajo briefly enumerated GFF’s programs to Hon Sidibeh and introduced the Federation’s forth coming programs one of which is the resumption of Afcon Qualifiers for the Senior National Team. He said the Federation over the years has had turbulent period because of instability amongst the key players and that he hoped the new minister will police and bring sanity to a game that everyone cherished so well.
For his part, ExCo member Bakary K Jammeh deliberated on the FIFA Forward program and some of the infrastructural development that the GfF is undertaken across the country while 2nd Vice President Ebou Faye also informed the Minister about the Federation’s intention to professionalise the domestic league in the nearest possible time. 3rd VP Martin Gomez dealt with School football programs and the support GFF renders to school Football.

General Secretary Lamin M Jassey spoke on behalf of the Secretarial Staff and assured the new minister of their fervent support to his ministry and programs. He added that the GFF Secretariat under his reigns will prepare a detailed program for presentation to the Minster and his team that will encapsulate all GFF activities and how the Football leadership prepares to develop Football across The Gambia.
Responding to the visiting team, Minister Sidibeh expressed his happiness in receiving the GFF and said the courtesy meeting is very timely. He further noted that the issue of Senior National Team Coach is urgent and important and thus request that he would call on the GFF for a formal discussion on the fast possibilities of securing a Coach for the National Team.
“There will be zero government interference in football under my watch”. The new Minister said he would definitely work with the GFF to secure financial sponsors for all their programs within the country.

He finally appealed to the GFF to support him for his success in advancing not only sports but the general affairs of Youths in the country.
