GFF League Kicks Off 4th Dec With Div Two Match Fixtures

The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) League 2019/2020 Season will resume to continue today (Wed 04/12/19) following the Weekend Super Cup Final won by Real De Banjul over Brikama one nil in the male category while Red Scorpions walloped over Interior two nil in the female segment.

The League proper opens at mid week with two 2nd Division Fixtures PSV Wellingara vs Red Hawks at the Sere Kunda East while Immigration takes on Steve Biko FC at the Banjul Mini Stadium.

At the Federation’s Club Management (Pre Season) meeting held prior to the commencement of the League, GFF 2nd Vice President and Head of Competitions Ebou Faye during his power point presentation, highlighted on the new plans for the incoming Season where he also disclosed the online GFF Player Registration System. Faye said the Player Registration System (PRS) will greatly enable the Competitions Department to reduce its workload hence all registration matters would now be done online through a system that is transparent and user friendly. All Club owners currently have been trained on the use of the system organized by the Competitions Department with the help of the GFF IT Manager.

As part of the deliberations at the Pre Season conclave, its has been observed that lateness by teams and officials on Match days are not been abated and thus needs some redress. Faye pointed at his presentation that all teams must arrive at the Stadium at least one (1) hour before kickoff. The Referee, the team Captains and the Match Commissioner shall inspect players’ license cards in the dressing rooms thirty (30) minutes  before the kick off for every match. He continued and stated that If through any fault of the home team a match has to  be re-played, the Organising  Committee shall have the powers to order the venue to be changed.
