Gambian international Ablie Jallow on Saturday helped RFC Seraing secure promotion to the Belgian top flight following a 6-3 aggregate defeat of Waasland-Beveren in the playoff finals.

Having drawn 1-1 at Seraing’s Stade du Pairay seven days earlier, the Gambian, on loan from Metz, played the whole match and assisted the second goal as his side ran riot in Beveren to secure a 5-2 win on the night, completing the comprehensive aggregate scoreline.

Jallow, 22, is a key player for the Royals having played 21 matches for them this season, scoring five times and may be keen to extend his stay beyond the current agreement that will come to an end at end of the season.

Born in Bundung, and brother to former Gambia youth team player Buba ‘Meles’ Jallow, Ablie spent his entire career with Gambian giants Real de Banjul who moved him on to Generation Foot in the Senegalese premier league. He joined French Ligue 1 side Metz on a five-year deal in 2017 but was moved on loan to Ajacio for the 2019 season before joining the Belgians last summer.
