Ahead of Wednesday’s Semi final matches in the ongoing WAFU tournament, Liberian President George Manneh Weah has yet again appeared at the fore with a pleasant surprise by inviting Gambia’s Young Scorpions and three other semi finalists Mali, Ivory Coast and hosts Liberia to a lunch hosted at the country’s Executive Mansion in Monrovia.
The Former World Footballer said the gesture is to interact with the players and Officials that have qualified to the WAFU semi finals.
The State lunch was held on Tuesday 1st May at the country’s seat of government been the first time for the Gambian delegation to be hosted in a presidential round table interface of recent.
The Young Scorpions were led to the Executive Manson by Head of Delegation Rtd Lieutenant General Lang Tombong TAMBA.
A similar invitation was earlier on extended to the WAFU organizing Committee who also had a round table State lunch with the Liberian leader and former world Soccer star.
Meanwhile the Gambia plays Ivory Coast in the semi final of the WAFU tournament later today ( Wednesday ) April 2nd at 15:30hrs at the SKD Stadium in Monrovia.
