GFF League Division one will welcome new faces at next season’s domestic competition as two heavyweights in League Two have signal their intent to rub shoulders with the big guns at the country”s premier LEAGUE.
Waa Banjul and Sporting Real FC are the new comers to be promoted to League Div One with a game to go following latest results.
League leaders Waa Banjul thrashed Gunjur United 4-0 whist second place Sporting Real overcame Jam City 3-2 to join the Banjul’s based youth side ready for top flight action next season.
Both teams are levelled on 60 points eight points adrift of third place Team Rhino FC who also accumulated 52 points in 29 matches with one game to spare.
Waa Banjul remain at the summit with a superior goal difference and will be guaranteed as Champions if they beat immigration in their final game of the season. Sporting Real over the weekend beat Kiang West but are still less in goals to equal the City based boys at 7 goals apar. Sporting are on 26 goals and Waa Banjul are enjoying 33 goals cushion.
Both teams will be satisfied with whatever happens in their final games. Their promotions to League One will serve as a litmus test in their history for the first time after a short spell in League Two and a rapid period for Sporting Real FC who were last year Champions from the Banjul Regional 3rd Div.
