Week 24 of the domestic second division league season came to an end on Wednesday with a staggering 17 goals scored across three different fixtures, beating the record number of goals scored 24 hours earlier by two.

Second place Waa Banjul got back to winning ways with a 5-2 defeat of rivals Red Hawks at the King George V Mini Stadium in Banjul to close the gap to within a single point off leaders Sporting Real. Waa Banjul have now recorded half-a-century of points (50) from 24 games, with Sporting Real on 51 points while Red Hawks have 24 points from as many matches.

Latrikunda United were the biggest winners of the night as they annihilated struggling Brufut United 7-2 to move to sixth position on 34 points. The defeat leaves Brufut United second from bottom on 21 points and conceding 50 goals in just 24 matches averaging more than two goals per-game.

The final game of the week was between Jambamjelly and Immigration with the former winning 1-0 to move to within one point off their opponents. Jam City are now eight with 33 points whilst Immigration FC are ninth position with 34 points.
