The General Secretary of the Gambia Football Federation LAMIN M JASSEY has come out publicly to clear the air on the recent bribery scandal allegedly involving Gambian Referee Ebrima Jallow carried on a BBC investigative video released on Wednesday June 6th.
” I have been contacted by numerous journalists and football fans across the country regarding the alleged involvement of a Gambian referee in a bribery scandal unearthed by a Ghanaian investigative journalist Anas Aremeyu Anas.
I would like the general public to know that The Gambia Football Federation is taking this matter very seriously and is currently doing everything possible to establish the facts but also strictly following the due process.
The appropriate committees and officials within the Federation are on the case since the news broke last night on social media platforms and some online newspapers. We therefore crave the indulgence of the general public to be a little bit patient with the Federation, in this very crucial time.
I would like to assure the general public that, as soon as the Federation gets all the facts it needs including interviewing the person allegedly involved in the scandal, a statement would be released to make clear the stance of the Federation
