The Gambia Football Federation continues to engage all of its national Football teams both male and female categories ahead of their eventual global and continental competitions. Ahead of the local based National (CHAN ) Team’s friendly international at home to Senegal on Wednesday 21st August, Head Coach Omar Sise has been speaking ahead of the mid week game.

Sise who is currently preparing the Gambia local based national team (CHAN ) for the West Africa Football Union (WAFU) competitions in Senegal later next month, said the friendly match with neighbors Senegal is not a competition but rather a team building process. Speaking ahead of the game at their training ground in Yundum, the former Scorpions Asst Coach and Gambia U-20 gaffer said Senegal been our neighbors is quite often than not taken as fierce rivals because of our closeness as a country. ” However, winning is very important. We have put up a team and i am very impressed with what has gone so far”.  He noted that the team is  built on performing and winning the friendly but not at any cost but to largely test their technical preparations and  how to approach the game ahead of the WAFU tournament. ” But we will do more to put smiles to Gambians like we usually do and we will definitely work for that” he stated.
He thanked the GFF for arranging the friendly with Senegal which he noted as very experience side to make the game even more significant. ” I think this friendly with Senegal will help us greatly to also examine their system of play and have a fair idea of how we go into the tournament”, Sise noted.
He described the support from the GFF to all other National Teams as second to none. “Definitely the commitment i see from the GFF is fantastic, I have formerly been with the U-17 and we always get what we want from them. Their support is second to non and we are grateful and therefore calling on all Gambians to come out and support the Local based National Team ( CHAN ) so that we can get the desired result because I have seen the commitment in the boys.”
