Coach Sang Ndong and his Scorpions are due to arrive in Banjul on Thursday March 30th in the early hours of dawn after a successful training camp in Morocco where they also had two friendly international matches during their ten day stay.
The Scorpions opened their camp with a warm up match to Morocco local based side where they lost by the narrowest of margins but moved up with intent to beat the national team of the Central African Republic 2-1 in their final friendly at the beginning of the week with goals from Modou Barrow and Mustapha Carayol.
Head Coach Sang Ndong said time has come for the Scorpions under his reign to secure their first win. ‘ The result is more timely now getting closer to the competition. We had enough time to do all the trails both home and away’. He said the new formation is one of the considerations he would put in place ahead of the qualifiers. ‘ Futty, Colley and Bubacarr cant be missed at the back and no one would afford to miss their presence at the back cognizance of how they are performing at their clubs but with all the boys and the entire team’.
He thanked the GFF for making the trip possible.’ I know how difficult it was for the GFF to empty its coffers to pay for the allowances of the players and officials. I also want to thank the Ministry for the air tickets because it is very expensive’.
