Scorpions opened training at the Independence Stadium on Tuesday morning ahead of their opener at home to Angola on September 6th. This comes after the latest batch of arrivals on Monday afternoon that now completes the squad and thus ushering in Coach Tom Sainfiet’s plans for the local training schedule.
The Stadium was fairly crowded with a sizeable number of fans and admirers of the Scorpions at the opening of their training in Bakau. Under today’s warm atmosphere filled with the beam of sunlight and soft wind blowing, the players could be seen in smiles and pride of returning home and at the ground they love so much.
Dressed in their new Saller brand kits, the ” Saint” introduced some light training techniques, ball rolling exercises and allowing the gallant Scorpions to also recover from travel fatigues.
Commentators described today’s feeling at the Stadium as a moment to be reckoned with and this according to Team Manager Ousman Drammeh is as well shared at their Ocean Bay camp at Cape Point.
“The team spirit is so high, the level of confidence is strong and their collective strength coupled with jokes could seem to be a message that they are sending across for a mega win in their back yard”, a fan said.
Training continues later at 5pm on Tuesday.
