The Gambia National Team Scorpions are in Marrakech Morocco for the warm up friendly as part of the FIFA break for Qualifiers and friendly internationals.
Head Coach Sang Ndong has called up a large number of players both foreign and local for the one week camp in the tourist resort of Marrakech.
Top of the merit list is goalkeeper Alagie Modou Jobe and his assistant Alagi Nyabally while veteran defenders Pa Modou Jagne and Futty Danso leads the foreign legion. The newest inclusion in the Scorpions line up is midfielder Ebou Adams hoping to make his debut for the Gambia. Adams is on loan to Shrewsbury from Norwich City. Former Real De Banjul marksman Muhammed Badamosi now with FUS Rabat of Morocco is also on course while Yusupha Bobb also makes his first appearance in the Senior Scorpions squad along with Adams and Badamosi. Barcelona interest Alasana Manneh braces up to rub shoulders with his senior colleagues. Dawda Ngum is also on course after making a big return to the national side after attempted calls for Scorpions duty. Two other local players Gregory Sambou of GPA and Mass Manga of Hawks are also part of the contingent.
Simon Richter and Amando Aust who both are called up once again will make a perfect line up for Sang Ndong while the maverick Sulayman Marreh and Ali Sowe having good spells at their European sides will be hoping to entice for another call up in the March Qualifier.
Baboucarr Gaye (broken finger), Yusupha Njie (meniscus), Raymond Mendy (groin), Tijan Jaiteh (hamstring) all withdrew as a result of injury. The GFF came to an agreement with Lamin Jallow’s club Cesena to release him for this window.
The Scorpions are led to Morocco by GFF 2nd Vice President Ebou Faye and also includes GFF Competition Manager Baboucarr Jobe.
