The Captain of the Gambia National Team (Scorpions) Pa Modou Jagne has sent a message of appreciation thanking the GFF for what he described ‘organizing a great test match’ for the Scorpions. Nda who captained the Scorpions at last weekend’s friendly international with the Wild Beasts of the CAR said the test match organized for the Scorpions has demonstrated that the players are at a way going into the Qualifying round which resumes later in September.

‘It was not the result we wanted but at the end, everybody was happy with our performance’. Nda said all the players were appreciative of GFF’s efforts in arranging the warm up and ‘ on behalf of the players of the national team and myself as the national team captain, I would to extend our appreciation for organizing this great test match’.

Pa Modou further thanked all fans and stakeholders for turning out in their numbers which according to him has further bolstered and gingered their performance. He also felicitated the First Lady of the Republic Her Excellency Madam Fatou Bah Barrow for her attendance at the match and wished the first family best of luck.

The Gambia drew with the CAR one all on Friday March 23rd been the second friendly international between the two countries in a year. The Scorpions only goal was scored by Assan Ceesay after a converted spot kick before the CAR equaled the scoring through midfielder Kethevdama Fox with a headed butt that lasted throughout the regular time. The last time the two teams met was in March 2017 when the Scorpions beat the Wild Beasts 2-1 at a training camp in Rabat, Morocco.
