The Scorpions have all finally arrived in Djibouti although the squad were hit with two late withdrawals from the named 20-man squad.

Dadi DODOU GAYE reported that an injury that he needed time to rest and recover from.

Hamza BARRY sustained a hamstring injury according to his club, whilst the GFF is still awaiting the official medical report concerning the injury.

Etoile du Sahel forward Adama JAMMEH and GAMTEL defender Ngine FAYE NJIE have been duly called up as replacements. Earlier on Monday, two players Ablie Jallow (Germano) and Njine Faye Njie arrived to join with the officials at their Sheraton Hotel in the capital City.

Upon arrival, they were been received by Team Manager Ousman Drammeh who also doubles as advance delegate to Djibouti. Drammeh arrived in the horn of Africa on Sunday 6th October to arrange and reinforce local logistics on the ground. GFF 1st Vice President Alh Bakary K Jammeh is the Head of delegation.

The first training session for the team will take place later today ( Tuesday ) at Stade Ouled at 7pm local time (4pm Gambian time). This will be only time that the Scorpions will be afforded before the match takes place at the same time 24 hours later on Wednesday 9th October (kick-off is 4pm Gambian time).

This is the first leg of the Preliminary Qualifiers scheduled for Wednesday 9th October with the return leg in Banjul scheduled for Sunday 13th Oct at the Independence Stadium in Bakau at 4pm.
