In Gambia Football Federation’s FF Cup Semi Final 1st Leg was a shock result for Tallinding United that succumbed to a 2-1 loose to Division Two side Red Hawks at Sunday’s opening of the FF Cup Semi Finals at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.
Red Hawks kept alive their tittle dreams as they opened a trail of devastation of two early goals against Tallinding in the first half and what could have been a finish affair for the League Two side. They took the game from Tallinding United in the first minutes dominating possession and creating chances to open the scoring in the 8minutes through Steven Gomez after a scramble in the Tallinding penalty area. Tallinding’s Moses Jatta at goal was the target as he continued to be helpless at goal when Red Hawks strikers reacted quick again to assault him for the second goal when Musa Sanyang was left unmarked and tapped in right footer that passed Moses Jatta 22 minutes and heralding a win for Red Hawks.
Tallinding resumed from the break with vigor to come from behind but could only put up a single goal as consolation when Sanna Jabang face off the Red Hawks goal keeper 68th minutes. No equalizer was found even though they later control pace of the second period.
Tallinding pushed much further but Lamin Fofana at Red Hawks post parried all their danger pieces and thus resulted to conceding 2-1 to Red Hawks in the first leg.
