Real de Banjul played a 1-1 draw with neighbours Waa Banjul as the two sides leapfrogged Wallidan to move joint top of the Gambian first division table on 17 points each.

However, the Whites occupy the number one spot of the 16-team division on their superior goal difference and still have the luxury of a game in hand over their rivals. Wallidan is third with 16 points, levelled on points with new comers Falcons, with Brikama United a further two points behind in fifth. However, the Sateba Boys played a game less and champions Fortune sits sixth with 12 points but they too have a game in hand.

At the bottom end of the table is Banjul United with eight points, two ahead of Marimoo while Elite United is rooted to the base with only three points from the seven matches they’ve so far played.

Meanwhile, rescheduled fixtures will continue later today when Gambia Ports Authority takes on Gamtel at the Late Ousman Saho Field in Old Yundum while Hawks entertain Fortune in Basori with both matches kicking off at 4pm.

On Tuesday, leaders Real will look to pull three points clear at the log when they take on struggling Samger in Old Yundum while Brikama United and Gambia Armed Forces meet in Basori.
