Matches continue in the domestic Gambia first division league with PSV Wellingara’s desperate hopes of survival receiving a major boost following a second straight win. On Saturday, they defeated The Gambia Ports Authority (GPA) 3-2.

Bottom side PSV Wellingara were surviving by the skin of their teeth at Match Day Twenty One but tilted up and stunned Ports in the five goals thriller at the Banjul Mini Stadium. The result sent the Wellingara outfit to 15 points, four points adrift of safety. Ports remains on 26 points, ten points behind of leaders GAF who played a game less.

Meanwhile, Marimoo returned to winning ways with a 3-1 hammering of defending champions Gamtel to move levelled on 26 points with the Telecom giants.

Two more matches will take place on Sunday 28th April 2019. Second from bottom Samger will be looking for all 3 points against Fortune in their quest to play division one football next season when the two meet at the KG5 Mini Stadium in Banjul. Elsewhere, second place Brikama United will hope to bounce back from their disappointing FF Cup exit to GCAA/BIA when they host Banjul United at the Box Bar. The City Boys will also be fighting for a win to get further away from the relegation zone.
