The President of the Gambia Football Federation Lamin Kaba Bajo has hit the button making another monumental breakthrough for the GFF following his meeting with the President of Spanish Football Federation on Wednesday 11th March 2020 in Madrid.
Mr Bajo currently in Madrid, Spain at the invitation of the Spanish FA President Mr. Luis Rubiales, follows his earlier visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in January 2020 when he was initially invited as a Special Guest by his Spanish counterpart for the Cup Final where the two Presidents discussed on a wide range of matters for the mutual benefits of the two Federations.
This giant stride is the second in two months where the GFF President inked a cooperation to broaden opportunity for the Gambia and open up new avenues for the football family in the country. It could be recalled that Mr Bajo had a similar cooperation with the Saudi FA in January 2020 when he visited the Kingdom at the invitation of the Spanish FA. The Jeddah meeting availed the GFF boss signed a bilateral cooperation with the Saudi FA for the first time in the history of Gambian football for the GFF to ink partnership with an Asian country which amongst others include the hosting of Gambia National Team on training camps, providing support in technical areas like Refereeing, Coaching and infrastructure.
The recent Madrid visit precedes Mr Bajo’s earlier meetings with both the President of the Spanish FA Luis Rubiales and the Director of international Relations for the Spanish FA Jorge Mowincle Sagnier on the possibilities of forging cooperation between the two Federations.
