Anticipations ahead of Gambia’s double campaign in the Africa Cup of Nations 2021 and World Cup 2022 are looming for the eventual preliminary matches for the darling Scorpions. Commentators have begun sharing their remarks and thoughts about Gambia’s chances in the next editions of the Africa Cup of Nations 2021 and World Cup 2022 respectively.

Following the release of Scorpions provisional squad list by Coach Tom Sainfiet, national team Manager Ousman Drammeh has also been reacting to the preparations put in place ahead of the Scorpions campaign. “Cho”, credited for his swift managerial skills and result orient strategies said that the Scorpions are very prepared for their opening encounter in the World Cup Preliminary to Angola at home on September 6th. “This is one of the biggest matches for us because it is that match to put us in the beginning of a new campaign to Qatar 2022. So, we are doing our very best in terms of preparations, logistics and everything that will help the team in it’s aspirations to bring glory”.
Drammeh noted further that the team is at a good playing level where arrangements for the players traveling into Banjul for the home game and into Launda for the away game are in place. “Flight arrangements, hotels/accommodation, local transports, Visas etc are all in place” he confirmed. Drammeh commended the GFF president Lamin Kaba Bajo for his interest in the campaign describing him as ” very passionate” in the arrangements. ” The President is doing everything in his capacity to support the team. In fact, we just held a meeting with him recently and he’s very serious about the team and the campaign. He is always on top of matters and reinforcing on our logistics”.
Drammeh called on Gambians from all walks of live to come out and support the national team. He however promised that the Scorpions having realized the importance of Gambians quest to be at Africa Cup of Nations and the World Cup will put up a good fight and will never disappoint their fans.
“There is nothing to worry about the arrangements. But it is a collective responsibility for all to be on board and get  the glory to bring smiles in our motherland. All the issues that could raise alarm have been taken care of. Its going to be a difficult campaign though financially but GFF is never relenting on its efforts to see this through” he highlighted.
Meanwhile Team Coach Tom Sainfiet has also announced a Press Conference on Thursday August 29th to abreast the general public about his technical preparations where he is also expected to announce his final list of players. Match Officials for the Banjul match as dispatched by FIFA is a Nigerian panel to be commissioned by Quamie Andy from Liberia and Sanusie Rashid from Sierra Leone as Referee Assessor.
The match will be played on Friday September 6th at the Independence Stadium in Bakau at 5pm. The GFF Events Management Committee ( EMC ) has also announced entry tickets for the much anticipated match as VIP D1000:00, Covered pavilions D200:00 and Uncovered pavilions at D100:00 only.
