The Head Coach of the Young Scorpions ( U-20 ) Mattar Alieu Mboge will face off Gambian sports journalists on Thursday 19th April in a Press Conference at the Football House in Kanifing at 12 noon.

This is ahead of the Gambia’s participation to the West Africa Football Union ( WAFU ) Championship in Liberia slated from April 24th to May 6th in Monrovia.

Thursday Press Conference will avail Young Scorpions Head Coach to outline his technical preparation and further unveil his final list of players for the WAFU Championship. Eight countries have confirmed their participation to the two weeks tourney in Monrovia sponsored by Fox Sports.

Hosts Liberia are joined with Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau and Sierra Leone in Group A while The Gambia is with Senegal, Mali and Guinea Conakry in Group B.

Meanwhile the Young Scorpions have moved camp at the Football Hotel in Yundum to continue their technical preparation with regular training at the NTTC in Yundum and Independence Stadium in Bakau. Coach Mattar Mboge has further lined up two local practice matches to hone the skills of the lads. The Team will play GPA and Hawks during the week before their eventual flying out at a date to be disclosed at the Press Conference on Thursday.

The Gambia Football Federation says all practicing Sports journalists are graciously invited for a befitting coverage of the Press Conference slated for Thursday April 19th at the GFF Secretariat in Kanifing at 12 noon.

The WAFU Championship opens on Tuesday April 24th with hosts Liberia taking on Cape Verde for the opener at 3:30pm at the Samuel K Doe Stadium in Monrovia while Guinea Bissau and Sierra Leone take on each other later at 6:00pm the same day. The Gambia opens its account the following day Wednesday April 25th with Guinea at 6:00pm.
