The late Alhaji Omar Sey memorial tournament continues with interesting results as Marimoo drew 1-1 with GAF on Thursday 26th June at the Brikama mini stadium.
Marimoo opened the scoring in the 26th minute when Armed Forces goalkeeper weakingly kicked the ball leading to a throw in his own half from which Modou Manneh wasted no time in firing a shot straight into the net.

The second half saw Marimoo relying on counter attacks and set pieces against a desperate Armed Forces but proved solid and stubborn.

An unexpected equaliser from GAF came from a substitute Dominic Demba who sent a soft volley from a scrambled throw into Marimoo’s court.

Speaking to reporters after the game, Marimoo’s head coach Modou Jallow expressed disappointment towards his players. He said his players’ lack of concentration costed them in the dying minutes and said that’s unacceptable.

GAF head coach Ebou Jarra admitted that his opponents had a better game. He described his teams’ performance as poor due to the fact that he brought in a different team from the one that played against Brikama. When asked if he regretted the rotation, Jarra said it was meant to give chance to players who couldn’t have enough playing time in the season and will continue to do so.
Speaking about his future career with GAF, Jarra said he is still a GAF coach but would not comment further.
The two sides both share 4 points in the tournament.
