Division Two leaders Waa Banjul were stunned at home by Team Rhino 1-0 as matches resumed with week Twenty-Three taking center stage on Thursday 2nd May 2019 after a brief break. With the win, Team Rhino move to 3rd place with 39 points while Waa Banjul are still on top on 47 points, two more than Sporting Real who have a game in hand.
Elsewhere, Latrikunda United held Jam City to a 1-1 draw at the Independence Stadium to maintain their one point lead over the latter. Bombada dropped to 4th with a 2-1 defeat to Stave Biko at the Box Bar. The win sent Biko to 5th with 32 points while Bombada surrendered their 3rd position to Team Rhino.
2nd Infantry Battalion won the relegation battle with Lions of Banjul, beating them 2-1 at Soma to temporarily move out of the drop zone. They are currently in 14th position.
Matches continue on Friday 3rd May 2019 with four games across four venues. Brufut United will be looking for a win against second place Sporting Real to move out of the relegation zone when the two meet at the Box Bar Mini Stadium in Brikama. Sporting Real also needs the points to regain top spot from current leaders Waa Banjul.
Elsewhere at in Banjul, sixth place Immigration will lock horns with 13th position Red Hawks; B4U Kiang West will host Young Africans at Soma and finally Gunjur United plays Serrekunda East Bi at the Independence Stadium in Banjul.
