Division One League leaders The Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) were held to a goalless draw by a strong Tallinding United team in the opening match of week twenty-two at the Independence Stadium on Tuesday 16th April 2019. The draw means GAF is now 6 points clear at the top of the table with 36 points but played a game more than the chasing teams.
Three more matches will be played today Wednesday 17th April 2019. Second place Brikama United will be looking to close the gap to with three points of the leaders when they take on 5th place BK Milan at the Independence Stadium. In Banjul, 8th position The Gambia Ports Authority (GPA) will host a struggling Samger side needing all three points to get out of the relegation zone. Elsewhere at the Box Bar Mini Stadium in Brikama, 9th position Fortune will host 11th place Banjul United with only 2 points separating the two sides.
Meanwhile, the final three matches of the week will be played tomorrow Thursday 18th April 2019. A rejuvenated Hawks will be looking for their fourth consecutive win when they take on basement side PSV Wellingara in Banjul, while third place Real de Banjul will be taking on a Gamtel side fresh from beating the in-form Wallidan at the Box Bar in Brikama and in the final game both Wallidan and Marimoo will be hoping to get back to winning ways when they take on each other at the Independence Stadium.
