KMRFA Visits GFF President At Football House

The newly elected President of the Kanifing Municipality Regional Football Association Pa Yusu Samba on Tuesday March 20th led a delegation of Executive Committee members of the KMRFA to a courtesy Meeting with the GFF PRESIDENT LAMIN KABBA BAJO at Football House in Kanifing.
Mr Samba said their meeting with the football leadership is to familiarize their positions with the FF and to also thank the President for his role in ensuring the smooth elective Congress held at the KM. ‘We want to thank the GFF for the level playing field they have created ahead of the Congress and to also introduce my colleague executive members who are with me in this job’. Mr Samba said the job at hand is a difficult one but will be thankful to the GFF for the support they have given to all the Regions including the KM. ‘ The courtesy call is important because the KM is in a very bad State and we really need the support of the GFF to bail us out although some level of work has begun’, Samba outlined.
Earlier on GFF 3rd Vice PRESIDENT Martin GOMEZ welcomed the KMRFA to Football House and said it’s a place where they belong to. Mr Gomez congratulated the Samba led team for their election into a new Office. ‘KM is a very important region and the highest level of football in the Gambia is played in the KM and therefore as a Federation we would do all what it takes to support you in your endeavors and work with your team’. Martin said he is assured of KM taking it’s rightful position in football hence the team according to him is expected to do what is takes to give back to Football.
For his part, GFF PRESIDENT LAMIN KABBA BAJO formerly welcomed the team to Football House. ‘I want to begin by congratulating you for the election victories and the orderly manner in which the Congress took Off. We have achieved our objectives to have the stakeholders elect their representatives’.
Mr BAJO said it is indisputable fact that KM is the most important Region as far as Football in the Gambia is concerned. ‘Incidentally the House of Football is located in the KM and we cannot achieve anything meaningful in football without the involvement and support of the KM. The athletes matter to us and that is why we as a Federation does not rests on our laurels to take our position positively through our leadership guidance to resolve the long standing problem in the Region’s management’, PRESIDENT Bajo said.
He said the composition of the new KMRFA ExCO is such that Football is in safe hands in the KM.
Mr Bajo reiterated the issue of playing grounds in the KM as been in deplorable conditions but ‘we made a pledge to support the grounds and this is a commitment that is been approved and we now wait for FIFA to actualize the projects and KM is very Central in this project’.
Mr Bajo reassured the new KMRFA ExCO of the Football Federation’s undivided support to their course and said the regions are one of the most important GFF partners in football development.
He finally wish the team good luck in their execution of duties during the period.
The courtesy Meeting was chaired by GFF General Secretary LAMIN M JASSEY and was also attended by Deputy General Secretary Abdou SALAAM Jammeh.
