History was made on Monday August 5th when for the first time a United States Ambassador in the Gambia visited Gambia Football Federation Offices at its Secretariat in Kanifing on a courtesy visit.

Richard Carl Paschall made the visit to Football House and was received on arrival by the GFF President Lamin Kaba Bajo and Executive Committee members. At his meeting with the GFF supremo, Ambassador Paschall was given a synopsis of the GFF Structure, Executive Committee composition, the achievements of the Kaba led Team, National Football Development Plans, National Teams engagements amongst others.

The two Officials also discussed on bilateral proposals for the Gambia Football Federation and its counterparts the US Football Association to forge partnership between the two football entities with the possibility of exchange visits and attachments for our local coaches.

Mr Bajo later led the top US diplomat to a tour of the GFF Offices where he met Staff and interacted with them.

Ambassador Paschall expressed satisfaction about his visit and remarked that he is so impressed with the GFF. He promised to work more closely with the GFF and to connect Football House with partners in the US while assuring the football leadership of his Office’s unwavering support to the cause of football development in the Gambia.

Ambassador Paschall arrived in The Gambia on March 14, 2019, and presented his credentials to His Excellency President Adama Barrow on April 9, 2019. Richard “Carl” Paschall, a career member of the Senior Foreign Service with the rank of Minister Counselor, is the U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of The Gambia.

Present was also the GFF 3rd Vice President Gen Lang Tombong Tamba, ExCO Member Sadibou Kamaso and GFF General Secretary Lamin M Jassey.
