A Lebanese sports journalist, Mr. Ibrahim Chebli, on Monday February 25th, 2019, visited Football House in Kanifing where he paid a courtesy call on the President of The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Mr. Lamin Kaba Bajo at his office.
Mr. Chebli, a coordinator of Football programmes in Europe, who works across that continent in the area of football marketing, events management, training of players etc., was at the Football House to also introduce his programmes to the President for possible partnership in the future.
Chebli’s purpose to The Gambia, according to him, is to discover talents in the country. He said Gambian talents could be further nurtured to become better players as compared to other countries. “My project could help the players to grow big and compete with European players,” he affirmed.
He said The Gambia has equally good players like its neighbour of Senegal, noting that our players could equally be scouted and organise training programmes for them to perfect their game. He promised to help the GFF in some logistical areas like national team jerseys, training equipment and lots more to ameliorate some problems.
Mr. Chebli said he works across many countries in Europe, Egypt, Lebanon, the Emirates and is based in Italy where he also works closely with former France World Cup winner and ex-Real Madrid midfielder Christian Karembeu. Mr. Karembeu now works as a Strategic Advisor of Olympiacos Piraeus FC of Greece.
