‘ I Intend To Give My Energy, Power And Desire’, Ebou Adams

Gambian youngster Ebrima ‘Ebou’ Adams plying his trade at Norwich City but on loan to Shrewsbury Town is looking forward to making his debut appearance for the Gambia National Team.

Ebou is among Coach Sang Ndong’s newest call-ups to the national side and had been tracked since he signed professional terms with Norwich City in 2016. Earning rave reviews playing for the U-23s before he was sent on loan to gain first-team football in order to develop further. The GFF received several positive reports and feedback on the player, including his former coach at Norwich. When asked about his reaction to the invitation to play for the Gambia, Ebou said he was over the moon and joyful about the news. ‘I was shocked and over the moon because not everyone has the chance to play for your national team.’ He said playing for one’s country is an opportunity that cannot be missed. ‘It’s a good chance for me to play for my country and I am really happy to come on board’.

Joining the team on Wednesday November 8th at the Kenzi Farah Hotel in Marrakech, Ebou described the camaraderie amongst the players as extraordinary and pleasant. ‘I am coping very well with the rest of the players. They have welcomed me with open arms especially the senior ones and we are all a family. I feel at home and everyone in the camp is friendly and relaxed’.

The midfielder intends to bring his exuberance and experience abroad to the Scorpions team whenever he is involved. ‘I intend to bring energy, power and desire to play for my country and I will do everything possible whatever the result’.

Ebou said it is his desire to continue playing for the national side and thus ‘I will take the opportunity to enjoy my career because football is my career and I enjoy it’.

Shrewsbury Town are on top of the table in League One due to what Ebou referred to as hard work and dedication. ‘It’s because of our determination and hard work, we are on top although unexpected but thanks to our Manager’.
