Hawks FC made it four wins on the bounce as they smashed PSV Wellingara 4-1 in a match played at KG5 Mini Stadium in Banjul on Thursday to move to fourth on the table with 29 points from 19 matches. Two goals from Kabba Gibba and a goal each from Matarr Badjie and Ebou Samba ensured the emphatic win over the basement side.
Elsewhere, Marimoo bounced back from their weekend defeat to extend Wallidan’s winless run as they beat the record champions 3-2 at the Independence Stadium in Bakau. The Blues first took the lead but Marimoo turned the game on its head scoring three times before Wallidan pulled one back in the closing stages.
Real de Banjul made sure they keep the pace with Brikama United after recording a 1-0 win over defending champions Gamtel, with the win seeing the Whites maintain their 3rd place status on the 14-team table with 32 points; a point adrift of second place Brikama United and a further 3 away from leaders The Gambia Armed Forces (GAF).
The league will now take a five-day Easter break.
