The President and Executive Committee of The Gambia Football Federation (GFF), wish to inform its stakeholders and the general public that it will host a dinner in honour of The Gambia U-20 Team following their exploits at this month’s AFCON.
The Young Scorpions, under the guidance of Head Coach Matarr Alieu M’Boge, finished third at the 2021 TOTAL African U-20 Cup of Nations that was held in Mauritania in February/March 2021.
By beating Tunisia in a third/fourth place playoffs, the WAFU Zone A champions equaled the country’s best ever finish at the competition, coming 14 years ago at their maiden appearance in Congo Brazzaville 2007. This would’ve also assured Gambia a place at the 2021 FIFA World Cup in Indonesia but the world football governing body had already cancelled the competition due to the devastating efforts of the Covid19 pandemic.
In this regard, Football House will entertain the players and officials to a buffer dinner at the Football Hotel on Saturday 3rd April, 2021, starting at 8pm. Once again, the GFF is congratulating both the senior and young Scorpions for the recent successes in Gambian football.
