The Gambia Football Federation wishes to inform the general public and all stakeholders that upon the alleged bribery scandal involving Gambian Referee Ebrima Jallow, the body is monitoring unfolding events as revealed by undercover investigative journalist Anas Aremayaw Anas.
After a tripartite meeting amongst the Gambia Football Referees Association, Gambia Football Referees Committee and the Gambia Football Federation Executive Committee that also involves the alleged person Ebrima Jallow, the parties have agreed in principle for Mr Ebrima Jallow to excuse himself from all refereeing matters pending the completion of the matter.
Mr Jallow in person has admitted and accepted to distance himself from all Refereeing matters hence his unfortunate involvement in the alleged bribery scandal revealed by the Ghanaian journalist.
The development is very unfortunate and the darkest side of Gambian Football.
Mr Jallow however is known to be a gentleman of absolute trust and confidence with high hopes of progressing positively in Refereeing hence his passion and dedication to what he like most earning him respect across the continent. His involvement in the alleged bribery scandal has however lowered down his credentials and as such Jallow would henceforth be excused from all Refereeing matters until investigations are completed.
The GFF finally thank the general public for their cooperation during this trying time and further crave the indulgence of all stakeholders to bear with us while the matter still unfolds and be further informed that we are in conformity with both CAF and FIFA principles of Fair play.
