The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) wishes to inform the general public and it’s stakeholder that following the disqualification of the candidature of five people by the GFF Electoral Committee through the Committee’s eligibility check, Mr. Essa JALLOW, MS. Mariama Jobarteh, Mr. Musa K Jawara, Mr. Abdoulie Njie and Mr. KABBA CEESAY, the quintet have jointly filed the matter to the High Court of the Gambia in Banjul claiming that their disqualification should be overturned.
Consequently, the High Court has summoned the GFF and the GFF Electoral Committee to appear before the said Court and the quintet further requiring the court to invoke an injunction to halt the forthcoming GFF Elective Congress.

Article 65: JURISDICTION of the GFF Constitution clearly defines that the GFF, it’s members, players and match and player agents shall not take any dispute to the ordinary courts unless specifically provided for in these statutes and FIFA regulations. The article further states that any disagreement may be submitted to the jurisdiction of GFF, FIFA, CAF or WAFU.
65.2 of Article 65 further states that the GFF shall have jurisdiction on internal disputes i.e disputes between parties belonging to the GFF.
In the case of the above, Article 65.3 also clearly spells out that a member of the GFF who or that violates this provision shall be suspended from the GFF pending the withdrawal of the matter before the courts. If the matter is not withdrawn from the courts before judgment is delivered, the member shall be expelled from the GFF’.
The GFF craves the indulgence of the general public to remain calm and maintain restraint while the competent authorities take up the matter in it’s appropriate manner.”
