The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) through its bilateral relations with the Saudi Arabia and Spanish football federations have donated footballs and referees’ uniforms to its members on Friday.

The Federation’s President, Mr. Lamin Kaba Bajo, it could be recalled in 2020 signed bilateral relations with his two federation counterparts. In the spirit of that relations, the Royal Spanish Football Federation President Mr. Luis Rubiales donated 100 balls while Mr. Yasser Al Misehal, the head of the Saudi Arabia Football Association donated 240 pairs of referees’ uniforms to Football House.

Mr. Bajo made led the onward delivery of the materials to the beneficiaries, the members of the GFF, in a ceremony held at Football House on Friday afternoon. Also present was the first Vice President Mr. Bakary K. Jammeh as well as other members of the Executive Committee, including retired referee Mr. Alhaji Ebrima Faye.

The 240 sets of referees’ uniforms came in four different colours of 80 sets per colour.

The beneficiary members include all the seven regional football associations in the country. The materials also include whistles as well as yellow and red cards.

Mr. Bajo said the donated items, especially the referees’ uniforms, will go a long way in helping the promotion and progress of football development in the regions who mostly struggles to dress their referees.
