The Gambia Football Federation (GFF), through its Technical Department, on Friday 20th May 2021, held a consultative meeting with the Technical Expert for the UEFA Assist Program, Ms. Monica Staab, at its Kanifing Secretariat.
The meeting, which was convened ahead of the beginning of the program scheduled to kick off in The Gambia on Tuesday 25th May 2021, was presided over by the third Vice President Rtd. Genenal Langtombong Tamba, the focal person for youth, grassroots and women’s football matters at Football House. The meeting centered on the modalities for the start of the program while General Tamba took the opportunity to welcome back the renowned FIFA women’s football expert, who is in the country for the implementation of the program.
The program would first be unveiled on Monday 24th May 2021 in the form of an introductory session, which is opened to be press, and will be held at Football House. The program is aimed at improving the knowledge and capacity of women football coaches in all the seven regions of the country, and was initially scheduled to begin in April of this year but was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Sixteen women coaches would be trained across each region with participants to be selected from eight teams from each region. The program would kick off in the North Bank Region on 25th to 26th May across to the Lower River, Central River, Upper River, West Coast, Kanifing and ends in Banjul on June 8.
