Gambia Football Federation is entering into its most prestigious Cup Competition ( FF Cup) scheduled to open on the 9th April, 2019.
This was announced on Friday April 5 when teams and representatives converged at the Football House to take part in the balloting for the Preliminary Rounds.
According to GFF Competitions Director Baboucarr Jobe, eight teams are billed for the first phase of the Competition. ” These are the two bottom clubs from League Division Two ( 2nd Infantry and Red Hawks) and the Champions from the Regions”. He noted that the two clubs from League Div Two were at the end of Round One before the resumption of the Second round.
The Preliminary Round would be on a Knock Out basis and only GFF designated grounds would be used for the matches. Mr Jobe said matches will kick off between the 9th and 11th April, 2019. ” This will be followed by another phase where League One and Two teams will be joined by the winners of the preliminaries in another balloting”.
Other Regions that did not meet the deadline were not included in the balloting and thus did not have representatives for the preliminaries
The pairings are as follows:
2nd Infantry VS Flamemins
B/K West VS Tujereng
Red Hawks VS Barra
Mauritanie VS GCCA/BIA
