The Gambia National Women’s U-20 Scorpions have returned to Banjul on Sunday 19th January 2020 following the Young Scorpions defeat 2-3 away to Burkina Faso in the opening leg of the Women’s U-20 FIFA World Cup Qualifier played over the weekend in Ouagadougou.

The team has resumed training at the National Technical Training Center (NTTC) in Yundum honing their skills ahead of the return leg scheduled for Saturday 1st February 2020 at the Independence Stadium in Bakau. The Gambia will go through with a win of any margin and avoiding reply from Burkina Faso, a feat considered as a strong possibility for the young Scorpions when they play home in front of the home fans.

Meanwhile the GFF Events Management Committee (EMC) has announced arrangements for the weekend game. Committee Chairman William Abraham first highlighted the importance of the game and urged the general public to turn up in their usual numbers to cheer up the girls. “Its an important game and the EMC will give it all the necessary arrangements required. We have started working on the logistics because it is a game that we should take advantage of since we are playing at home so that we proceed to the next level of the Qualifiers“, Willy noted. He urged the public to turn up and support the Young Scorpions and give them cheers in order to feel at home.
