After a week’s break, the domestic women leagues returned over the weekend. The competition took a break with the National Team playing in the second leg of the AWCON qualifiers at home to Cameroon.

In the first division, City Girls defeated Immigration 1-0 at the Live Your Dreams grounds in Basori on Friday. Ellen Gai scored from the penalty spot to give her side all three points.

Elsewhere, on Saturday, Red Scorpions thrashed Gambia Armed Forces 3-0 in Basori. There’ll be two matches on Sunday when Gambia Police Force entertains Brikama United in Basori in the early kick-off at 3pm, which will be followed by the late game between Berewuleng and Brikama United at 5pm.

Meanwhile, in the second division on Friday, Ndey Ceesay scored after 23 minutes to give Raptim the lead in Kiti but Sally Jarju was at hand to ensure parity for Koita 10 minutes into the restart. It ended like that as the two teams settled for a share of the spoils.

The second game of the division was played in Soma where Kintehs defeated Young Icons 2-1. Matches continued on Saturday as Greater Tomorrow won a five-goal thriller with Lower Nuimi at Soma while Foni Girls were thumped 4-0 by Future Bi in Kiti.

The final game of the week will be played in Kiti on Sunday when Jeshwang United entertains Prison.
