The first edition of Beach Soccer tournament organized by the Gambia Football Federation will take off on Friday 29th November 2019 at the Palma Rima Beach front.
The tournament will be competed by Sixteen (16) Teams Grouped into Four slots for the period of One week.
GROUP (A): 1. B4U KIANG WEST FC 2. GARRMI FC 3. GAF FC 4. SUKUTA TIGERS FC
GROUP (B): 1. HAWKS FC 2. WAA BANJUL FC 3. KUNKUJANG FRIENDS UNITED FC 4. GAMBIA PRISON SERVICES FC
GROUP (C): 1. SK EAST-BI FC 2. STEVE BIKO FC 3. BK MILAN FC 4. GAMBIA FIRE RESCUE SERVICES FC
GROUP (D): 1. LK UNITED FC 2. REAL DE BANJUL FC 3. TALLINDING UNITED FC 4. GUNJUR UNITED FC
The Secretary General of the GFF Beach Soccer Committee Mafugie Jatta said the tournament comes at the backdrop of the exhibition game that was organized in the month of August to pave the way for the start of the regular tournament. “We want to have Beach Soccer as part of GFF activities and it would also be in the GFF Calendar”. He said the aim of the tournament amongst others is to also establish a national Beach Soccer Team for the GFF that would compete in international tournaments. ” There are no age restrictions for now because we want youths to come and play the game so as to enable us have a team in place and that is why we will play matches during the morning and afternoon”, Fugie noted.
The tournament will kick off at 3pm on Friday afternoon and would be attended by GFF Executive Committee members and football stakeholders.
