Banjul United were reduced to ten men after Musa Jarju received his second booking in Match Day Five of GFF League Division One against Real De Banjul at the Banjul Mini Stadium on Sunday 12th January 2020.
The Whites dominated the dictates of the game from the start of the whistle but many of their chances went wayward following a dominance of chances to put their noses in front.
Banjul United fifth on the table on 8 points dismissed all of Real’s high pressing tactics as the Capital based side resort to playing from the back earning Modou Lamin Demba coming twice before the post but been denied by Dodou Darboe who came on both occasions in the 40th and 43rd minutes respectively to ditch away Modou’s efforts.
Real roared for a penalty claim when Lamin Saidy went down in the opposition box but to his consternation Central Referee ignored the attempt for match to proceed and thus Banjul United were the happiest going into the break goal less. Resuming from the locker room, an eventful second stanza was for both sides as Real pushed harder searching for a lead while Banjul United also showed intense determination to avoid any deficit as they count on their mid field to mount pressure but as Real has it in the first half, much of the possession went on their way.
Goalkeeper Dodou Darboe was the stand out player as he thwarted RDB Sering Babou Cham’s trailer on several occasions and to also forced substitute Kajally Drammeh’s attempts at goal. Banjul United came on close when Bai Sam Cham got the best chance of the final moments of the game as he was poked up with a quick throw in by Muhammed Samba but a side netting ended his celebration. Musa Jarju sent Bjl Utd some troubles after his sent off for a second booking.
Real desperately searched for wanting to return to the top of the table but Banjul United could be happy for their draw to claim 8 points on 5th position.
