Ahead of the forth coming West Africa Football Union ( WAFU ) Championship in Liberia schedule for April 24th to May 6th, the Gambia Football Federation has confirmed that the Young Scorpions will go to camp on Wednesday 18th April at the Football Hotel in Yundum.

Eight nations will take part in the two weeks zonal youth championship. Hosts Liberia, Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau and Sierra Leone make up Group A whilst Senegal, Mali, Gambia and Guinea Conakry complete Group B.

Matches will be held at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Stadium and the Antoinette Tubman Stadium, both in Liberia.

Gambia U-20 Head Coach Mattar Mboge has unveiled his program schedule for the Young Scorpions and has further confirmed that the team will go to camp on Wednesday April 18th at the Football Hotel in Yundum while continuing their technical preparation at the National Technical Training Center in Yundum and the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

Mattar will face the press on Thursday afternoon for a presser with the media and thus would unveil his final list of players and officials for the Championship. The Press Conference would be held at the GFF Secretariat in Kanifing at 12 noon.

According to the team program schedule, the Young Scorpions would warm up with Gambia Ports Authority FC in a test match on Friday April 20th at 7:00 am at the independence Stadium in Bakau before winding down with Hawks FC in their second honing of skills shortly before they fly out to Monrovia.

The championship opens on Tuesday April 24th with hosts Liberia and Cape Verde for the opener at 3:30pm and Guinea Bissau with Sierra Leone later in the day at 6:00pm while the Gambia opens its account with Guinea on Wednesday April 25th at the Samuel KD Stadium in Monrovia at 6:00pm.
