‘ We are ready to put up a good performance’, Omar Sise

Gambia National U-23/Olympic Team Coach Omar Sise said his charges are bracing up very well ahead of their friendly international at home to their equivalents from Morocco slated for Sunday 6th and Wednesday 9th January, 2018.

Ceesay in a chat on GFF Live streaming talk show held at mid week, said ‘ as a national team, we are very ready and looking forward to the game and i can assure you that the team is intact and we are all ready for the day’. He said the selection process leading to their preparation has not been so difficult for him hence his familiarity with most of the players at the domestic front. ‘ I have known the players for so long and although i still watch them at their clubs but selecting them again wasnt difficult for me. I just added a few other players to test them’. He said the final list would be out when the team completes their local test match with Brikama United at the Box Bar on Wednesday evening.

Sise said the Gambia and Morocco has a friendly relationship and thus the team having realized the past test matches between the two countries at junior level always demand for more hence ‘ we always give them a good test for their money’. He said although the Gambia isnt competing in the Olympic Qualifiers but keeping the boys intact and making them active is paramount as a technician ‘ so that they will not lose their fitness levels’.

The Team earlier on Monday played a local friendly with Gambian internationals on holidays in town at the Independence Stadium in Bakau and triumphed over the holiday makers at four nil as part of honing their skills ahead of squaring off Morocco in the double legged friendly slated for Sunday 6th and Wednesday 9th January, 2019.

Meanwhile Morocco has arrived in town on Wednesday morning and are scheduled for training at the National Technical Training Centre in Yundum while the Gambian team will continue their regular training at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.
