Sulayman Keita scored a last-minute winner as Samger secured all three points and in the process closed the gap on leaders Falcons to only two points in the domestic second division league.

The team nicknamed the Cherno Samba Academy Boys are now on 36 points from the 18 matches they’ve so far played in the 16-team league and are amongst the favorites to secure one of the four spots on offer for promotion to the top flight at the end of the campaign.

Elsewhere on Thursday, Team Rhino defeated Red Hawks 1-0 to consolidate their grip on fourth place, four points behind third place Jam City on 29 while their victims have 23 points at eighth place.

Meanwhile, fans at the Jarra Soma Mini Stadium were entertained to a seven-goal thriller as hosts B4U Kiang West put 2nd Infantry Battalion of Farafenni to the sword with a thumping 5-2 win.  B4U Kiang West is 11th with 20 points while 2nd Infantry remains bottom with just 14 points.

Steve Biko bounced back from their 2-2 draw with Young Africans to register a vital 2-0 victory over struggling SK East Bi at the Late Ousman Saho Football Field. The result moved the Giant Killers to seventh with 23 points while SK East are staring relegation in the face with 17 points.

The final matches of week 18 will be played this afternoon as Gunjur United will be looking to reclaim fourth spot when they entertain 10th place PSV Wellingara at the Live Your Dreams Football Complex in Basori while Young Africans and Immigration will lock horns at the Late Ousman Saho in Old Yundum. Young Africans are 13th with 18 points while Immigration are 12th with 19 points.
