Red Scorpions Coach Chorro Mbenga has described her side’s title triumphed as awesome. She was speaking following their coronation as champions of the women’s football league on Saturday in a ceremony held at the Independence Stadium in Bakau at the end of their final 2018/19 league match played against The Gambia Armed Forces (GAF). The Reds finished the season with 37 points.
The Old Jeshwang based outfit played out an entertaining goalless draw with fourth place GAF before been crowned as winners with medals and a giant trophy as well as a cash reward of D150, 000:00 Interior that finished second with 31 points received D100, 000:00 while Abuko United got D50, 000 for finishing third.
