The senior national women’s team of The Gambia, the Queen Scorpions, will begin training tomorrow Wednesday 19th May, 2021, at the National Technical Training Centre in Old Yundum.

Head Coach Mariama Bom Sowe earlier today released a strong 28-woman squad, including three foreign based players, that will train six times every week from Monday to Saturday between 8am and 10am ahead of the qualifiers for the African Women’s Cup of Nations against Sierra Leone next month. Bom will be assisted by National Men’s U-17 Team Abdoulie Bojang with Adama Jatta the goalkeeper coach while Maimuna Jatta is the Team Doctor and Kaddy Badjie the Physio. The technical team is completed by Kits Manager Bintou Bojang.

The Confederation of African Football last week held the draw for the Morocco 2022 edition, pitting Gambia against Burkina Faso with the winner taking on either Cameroon or the Central African Republic for a place in the finals. Sierra Leone will host the first match on June 7, with The Gambia to be the home side for the decider eight days later.
