The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) wishes to inform its members and the general public that following their decision to take an internal football matter to the High Court, which is in contravention with the GFF Constitution, the following five people have been suspended from the GFF with immediate effect in line with Articles 65.1, 65.2, 65.3 of the said Constitution.
Mr. Abdoulie Njie (Star), Mr Kabba Ceesay, Mr Musa K Jawara, Mrs Mariama Jobarteh and Mr Essa Jallow.
The GFF further wishes to inform its stakeholders and the general public that if the quintet fail to withdraw the matter from the civil court before judgement is delivered, they will be expelled from the GFF.
ARTICLE 65: JURISDICTION
65.1 The GFF, its Members, Players, Officials and match and player’s agents shall not take any dispute to the ordinary courts unless specifically provided for in these Statutes and FIFA regulations. Any disagreement may be submitted to the jurisdiction of GFF, FIFA, CAF, or WAFU.
65.2 The GFF shall have jurisdiction on internal disputes, i.e. disputes between parties belonging to the GFF. FIFA shall have jurisdiction on international disputes, i.e. disputes between parties belonging to different Associations or Confederations.
65.3 A member of the GFF who or that violates this provision shall be suspended
from the GFF pending the withdrawal of the matter before the courts. If the matter is not withdrawn from the court before judgement is delivered, the member shall be expelled from the GFF.
