It was a top of the table clash in the domestic Female League Division One as serial leaders Red Scorpions took on the Gambia Police Force ladies on Saturday 5th June 2021 at the Qcity Complex in Bijilo but on a memorable note for the former leaders as the law enforcement agents ended Red Scorpions’ unbeaten streak.
The Jeshwang based side has been on op of the standings with their ever clean sheet but were brought to a halt by the Police ladies who came from behind to win in a four goals thriller against the former Champions with Catherine Jatta scoring a hat-trick for her side to open a three points gap on top of the table reducing Red Scorpions to drop to Second on 12 points on the log.
Abuko United who are on third place were held by Immigration to a nil-nil draw at the Late Ousman Saho Field in Yundum. With the draw, Abuko now has 10 points while Immigration are 4th with 8 points.
Earlier on Friday, bottom side Kintehs collected their first point of the season as they held Gambia Armed Forces to One all at the Late Ousman Saho Field in Old Yundum. The Khaki girls are now 5th with 7 points from five matches while Kintehs remain in the basement area with a solitary point after conceding 19 goals.
Meanwhile on Sunday, relegation threatened Brikama United and City Girls canceled each other out with a one all draw at the Late Ousman Saho Field in Old Yundum. The point moved the City Girls to 6th position with 2 points while Brikama United are second from bottom with only a solitary point from five matches.
